Job summary

Medium is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Pittsburgh, PA. This role supports system design, integration, and validation for robotic platforms. Candidates will work on mechanical systems that enable rugged performance in real-world environments, utilizing CAD tools like SolidWorks. A B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required. Compensation ranges from $70,000 to $300,000 based on experience. This role is full-time and onsite at the Irvine office.

Qualifications

• Proficient with SolidWorks or equivalent mechanical CAD platforms.
• Familiarity with FEA and thermal modeling tools.
• Experience designing hardware that survives vibration, shock, thermal cycling, and environmental exposure.

Responsibilities

• Design and model mechanical structures including external enclosures and load-bearing chassis.
• Conduct mechanical load testing, thermal validation, and ingress tests.
• Collaborate closely with electrical and systems engineers.
