Job summary

Think Circuits Engineers, an Oakland-based robotics-focused engineering firm, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead hardware/software integration on client and internal projects. You will coordinate hardware development from prototype to mass production and collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

Required are a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 2 years of engineering experience, CAD proficiency (Solidworks, Fusion360), and robotics or autonomous systems exposure.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2 years of industry experience in mechanical engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD design and manufacturing (Solidworks, Fusion360).
• Experience with electronics, sensors and actuators integration.
• Experience with robotics or autonomous systems.
• Experience collaborating with external stakeholders such as vendors/clients.
• Experience with AI-enhanced workflows using Claude.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical CAD and fabrication for client and in-house projects.
• System-level hardware design and documentation.
• Own mechanical aspect of multi-disciplinary team projects.
• Contribute to manufacturing readiness, including DFM feedback and test support.
• Assist with manufacturing test fixture development.
• Help with BOM maintenance, part sourcing and substitutions with senior engineers.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 year industry experience in mechanical engineering role
• Proficient in CAD design and manufacturing using tools such as Solidworks, Fusion360, etc.
• Experience in electronics, sensor and actuator integration
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively to colleagues
• Ability to work with external stakeholders such as vendors and clients
• Previous robotics or autonomous systems experience
• Previous experience with one or more: Vehicle design, DFM for CNC, sheet metal, etc.
• Experience with AI enhanced workflows using tools like Claude

This is an on-site position, requiring in-person presence at our office in Oakland, CA and/or client site in San Francisco, CA.May require occasional travel to client deployment sites.
