Job summary

Think Circuits seeks an Embedded Engineer- Robotics to design and coordinate firmware and software for embedded CPU and MCU systems. You will collaborate with electrical and software engineers to bridge hardware and software, supporting manufacturing, bring-up, and compliance activities.

The role emphasizes problem-solving across multidisciplinary teams, with AI-powered workflows and active coordination with vendors and clients. On-site in Oakland, CA, with potential travel.

Qualifications

  • BS in computer science, electrical engineering, or related discipline.
  • 2 year industry experience in embedded systems or software development role.
  • Proficient in C/C++ and Python.
  • Proficiency in communicating with cross-disciplinary stakeholders for taking mechanical or electrical measurements, describing behavior, etc.
  • Experience in electronics, sensor and actuator integration.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively to colleagues.
  • Proficient in AI-powered agentic workflows such as Claude Code, Codex.

Responsibilities

  • Write and support firmware and software for embedded CPU and MCU systems
  • Own embedded firmware aspects of complex multidisciplinary projects
  • Coordinate with electrical engineers and software engineers to build a reliable bridge between intelligent computers and the physical world
  • Design test software for manufacturing
  • Support assembly and bringup activities of hardware
  • Support compliance activities and analysis to ensure product quality and human safety
  • Contribute to deployment readiness, including testing feedback loops, documentation, and test support
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (vendors, contractors, and clients) as needed

Role Description

Join our team as an Embedded Engineer- Robotics and play a pivotal role in transforming the landscape of technology. Demonstrated industry experience in coordinating the design and execution of a product development program from prototype to mass production is a must.
