Job summary

Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer in Monroeville, PA. You will perform routine to moderately complex engineering evaluations, support repair part logistics, and coordinate with NAVSUP, NAVSEA, and other teams to ensure compliance with contract and design requirements.

Strong emphasis on documentation and process improvement. The role requires a Mechanical/Aerospace degree, ability to obtain DOE clearance, and a solid grounding in quality and manufacturing processes;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Requires a security clearance; ability to obtain and maintain a DoE security clearance.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred for recent graduates.

Responsibilities

• Manage receipt, prioritization, and team assignment of LARs related to PQDRs, ERSRs, and NAVSUP requests.
• Gather and analyze technical and logistics data to support dispositions.
• Evaluate NAVSUP supplier and shipyard documentation to address deficiencies and requests.
• Interpret drawings, specs, and manufacturing/test procedures to verify compliance.
• Coordinate technical reviews and concurrence requests with stakeholders.
• Track actions and resolutions using approved systems and provide status updates.
• Mentor and train lower-level engineers; collaborate across teams.
