Job summary

MOVA Metals in Texas is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support design, evaluation, and improvement of processing facilities, ensuring safety and compliance. The role involves piping design, equipment integration, and collaboration with operations.

You will evaluate new and existing projects, review proposals, and assist with cost and feasibility analyses while maintaining safety standards and ensuring efficient plant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• A minimum of two years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience in engineering is needed for this position.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of Engineering.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Good mechanical, analytical, and technical skills.
• Engineering experience in a process facility.
• Experience with mechanical equipment and their behavior in processes.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex problems in mechanical systems.
• Experience in Project Management preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Excel and MS Word.
• Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and contribute to the success of new and existing construction projects. Provide onsite evaluation of existing process and equipment.
• Conduct assessments on facility and equipment design.
• Participate in the design of piping systems, P&ID's, and general layouts.
• Work with process operations and other engineers to integrate new equipment into the existing plant environment.
• Review and analyze design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine suitability of design for given application; consult with others to calculate costs and determine feasibility of projects based on the analysis of collected data.
• Collaborate with site management and provide technical support on health and safety preventative measures to comply with safety regulations and standards
