Job summary

Electroninks Incorporated is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Precision Automation to own the machine architecture for a high‑precision PCB assembly system. You will design gantries, enclosures, and stages, select components, and collaborate with electrical engineers across domains to deliver a production‑ready platform.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics or equivalent.
• 3+ years building robots, machines, or mechatronics systems.
• Deep CAD proficiency with solid mechanics fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail the machine. Architect multi-axis gantry systems, structural frames, sheet metal enclosures, and CNC-machined stages.
• Integrate across domains. Spec and wire motors, encoders, sensors, drivers, and cabling into mechanical assemblies.
• Own the processes. Develop reliable, repeatable processes for pick-and-place, laser ablation, conductive inkjet printing, solder paste dispensing, board handling, alignment, and calibration.
• Build, test, iterate. Assemble prototype gantries and subsystems hands-on, debug and test for repeatability.
• Scale it. Help take production from hand-built units to contract manufacturers, focusing on manufacturability and cost reduction.
• Document everything. Produce detailed CAD assemblies, drawings, BOMs, tolerance stacks, and interface documentation.
