Job summary

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years in mechanical design for mechanical, plumbing and performance-based fire protection systems.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Familiarity with building codes, ASHRAE design manuals and USGBC LEED requirements.
• Plumbing and/or performance fire-protection experience also desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical system designs from concept through construction with the assistance of an EIT and development of construction documents.
• Perform HVAC load calculations, energy models, life cycle cost analyses, and ventilation calculations.
• Size equipment and develop layouts for HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Review and edit construction specifications using MasterSpec for each project.
• Participate in construction administration including RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, site observations, and punch lists.
