As a New Product Development Engineer at Copper, you'll contribute to creating the next generation of home appliances for an electrified future — supporting products from early concepts through production‑ready designs. You'll help develop mechanical systems and components, translating ideas into manufacturable, reliable hardware that can ship into real homes.
This role spans the full product development cycle: concept exploration, engineering development, prototyping, validation, and production readiness. You'll contribute to generating and evaluating design concepts, then help drive selected designs through detailed design, testing, supplier engagement, and manufacturing scale‑up.
You’ll work closely with electrical, firmware, industrial design, operations, and supply‑chain teams to bring new products from idea to production. As part of a growing hardware team, you’ll play a meaningful role in both what we build and how we build it, while continuing to develop your technical depth and product development skills.
We value diversity and are committed to building a team that reflects a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives. We’re especially focused on fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone can contribute to our shared mission.
This is a full‑time position expected to be in‑office 4 days per week with 1 day flexible for in‑office or remote work. Our office is located in Berkeley, CA.
