Job summary

Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Middletown, RI to support torpedo test equipment hardware development and production activities.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and two (2) or more years of experience.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain SECRET level clearance.
• Must have experience leading multiple projects to completion.
• Must be able to support in-person interactions with customers at local Naval research center in Newport, RI and occasionally at external customer sites.
• Experience with some of the following: Execution of large-scale projects using formal Project Management and/or Systems Engineering practices.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical systems is necessary.
• Experience with National Instrument's hardware and software systems or other data acquisition systems is preferrable.

Responsibilities

• Interface with the customer to define key test requirements, sources, and suppliers; prepare project documentation including AOAs, TDPs, and presentations.
• Lead multiple projects; self-manage and communicate with customers, engineers, logisticians and technicians.
• Prepare technical writing and engineering documentation for TDPs, AOAs, schedules, and presentations.
• Maintain on-time and on-budget project execution with clear communication.
• Interface with customers digitally and in-person at Newport Naval research center and at external sites.
