Job summary

SAIC seeks a Senior Systems Engineer in Middletown, RI to help bring mechanical designs from concept through prototype development to production. You will participate in cross-functional teams, perform system-level engineering, and contribute to design reviews and test planning.

The role requires a broad engineering skillset, well-developed work habits, and enthusiasm for solving challenges in areas including undersea defense, torpedo test equipment, and automated test equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with five or more years of related experience.
• Familiarity with System Engineering Technical Review events (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).

Responsibilities

• Provide system-level engineering support to a cross-functional team.
• Develop preliminary solutions to engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity.
• Apply architecture, system integration, and risk management principles to support recommendations.
• Support prototype development and inform sponsor of capability requirements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as requirements specs, concepts of operation, design reviews, and test plans.
• Develop and document engineering processes and standards in support of customer requirements.
