Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead design, development, testing, deployment, and sustainment of C6ISR/EW systems for the Navy/USMC. You will transform requirements into mechanical specifications, develop 3D models, drawings, and BOMs, and support SETR activities with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Interim Secret clearance required; active DoD Secret preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in creating 3D models and 2D drawings of components and assemblies, including sheet metal and welded parts.
• Extensive knowledge of SolidWorks, Creo, and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Technical Data Packages and standards such as MIL-STD-31000 and ASME Y14.100.
• Knowledge of configuration management practices and engineering change processes.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into mechanical specifications and solutions.
• Develop architectures and components per specs and best practices.
• Support Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) and related activities.
• Lead SETR kick-off, execution, and closeout.
• Analyze, resolve problems, and present reports to stakeholders.
• Create and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings of ACV systems.
• Produce and maintain BOMs and kits for manufacturing and integration.
• Develop and manage Technical Data Packages (TDPs) and ECPs.
