Your Opportunity

The MCF (Mission Critical Facilities) Engineer performs technical duties under the supervision of a Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer. The role identifies project requirements and performs independent technical work within one’s own discipline, providing guidance to designers on completion of duties. This position offers the chance to work on technically challenging projects that require cutting‑edge designs in the evolving data center industry. It is open to any location with a Stantec office presence for the right candidate.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Develop basic system designs within own discipline under supervision, offering solutions to general technical problems.
  • Delegate tasks to project designers as appropriate.
  • Work with the project team to prepare deliverables per the client’s intent and scope outlined in the proposal.
  • Coordinate with all disciplines to fully integrate work and client requests into design.
  • Follow the quality management process, reviewing deliverables prior to submission to QA/AC reviewer.
  • Assist with reviews of shop drawings and submittals, RFI responses, site observation reports and punch lists, attend project coordination meetings, and perform other CA tasks.
  • Actively participate in the engineering/professional community to build personal knowledge and professional growth (e.g., attend meetings, seminars, conferences).
  • Assist the Project Engineer on project‑related tasks.
  • Meet or exceed utilization goals and adhere to project budget.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Possess knowledge of engineering practices within own discipline.
  • Knowledge of commonly used and accepted design and construction concepts, practices, procedures, codes, and standards.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, specifications, procedures, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in applicable software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, Trace 700); proficiency in hydraulic modeling (Pipe‑Flo) and CFD (Fluent, 6Sigma) preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to confidently interact with vendors and inter‑discipline co‑workers.
  • Effective organization and time‑management skills; manage multiple priorities and be punctual and dependable.
Education and Experience
  • Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years related industry experience.
  • Registered professional engineer (PE), Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)/Engineer in Training (EIT) or other professional certification preferred.
  • Data center experience preferred but not required.

Pay Range
  • Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas – $85,000.00 – $123,300.00 annually.
  • Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA areas – $91,200.00 – $132,300.00 annually.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
