Job summary

BL Companies Inc in the United States seeks a Mechanical Engineer (Mid-Career) with 4–7 years of MEP experience to design, develop, and execute projects from concept to completion.

You will collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, perform heat load calculations, assist sizing of equipment and ductwork, and help plan electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems while using Revit and AutoCAD in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience in MEP engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Strong technical skills with willingness to develop project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) projects from concept through completion.
• Perform heat load and static pressure calculations.
• Size equipment and ductwork to meet project specifications.
• Assist in designing one-line risers and specify fire alarm devices.
• Contribute to lighting, power, and feeder planning in line with standards.
• Support pipe sizing and routing for sanitary, storm, gas, and domestic systems.
• Assist in sprinkler head layout planning for fire protection.

Mechanical Engineer - Mid-CareerBL is expanding and seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems to assist in the design, development, and execution of MEP projects from concept through to completion.The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of MEP engineering experience and will support the mechanical aspects of MEP projects, ensuring designs meet industry standards while contributing to high-quality, efficient solutions.In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to project success while developing your skills and expertise.Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Systems:Assist in the development of flow diagrams for mechanical systemsPerform heat load and static pressure calculationsSupport in sizing equipment and ductwork to meet project specificationsElectrical Systems:Assist in designing basic one-line risersSupport in specifying fire alarm devicesContribute to lighting and control plans, ensuring compliance with design standardsHelp determine power and feeder requirements for mechanical systemsPlumbing Systems:Assist in selecting fixtures and componentsContribute to pipe sizing and routing for sanitary, storm, gas, and domestic systemsEnsure systems have proper venting and service sizingFire Protection:Support in designing risers and planning sprinkler head locations for projectsQualifications:4-7 years of experience in MEP engineeringBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)Strong technical skills and willingness to develop project management abilitiesProficiency in Revit and AutoCADExcellent written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of federal and state codes governing MEP designBL Companies is 100% employee owned, giving us a competitive edge and a unique distinction from most other companies.
