Job summary

Medela LLC in McHenry, IL is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop mechanical components for medical devices, from concept through prototype to manufacturing.

You will create CAD models and drawings, apply GD&T, and work with QA/regulatory teams to meet design controls and sterilization requirements. The role offers a hybrid schedule and strong bonus potential, with a starting salary of $100,000+.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of professional engineering experience.
• 2+ years CAD experience using Creo, SolidWorks, Siemens NX or comparable.
• Working knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience developing mechanical design concepts, building and refining prototypes, and translating designs into manufacturable products.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve mechanical components and assemblies for medical devices, focusing on product enhancements and innovation.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and specifications.
• Support prototype testing, design verification and validation activities.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation per quality and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory and Operations teams on sterilization and biocompatibility requirements.
• Help transition designs into manufacturing and commercialization.
