Blue Chip Talent is seeking to bring on 2 experienced, hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support engine and axle assembly operations in a high-volume manufacturing facility. This position focuses on troubleshooting equipment failures, supporting maintenance teams, and minimizing production downtime.

This is a hands-on, plant-floor maintenance engineering role, NOT a traditional design or process engineering position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment, industrial robotics, and automated assembly systems.
• Work directly with skilled trades and maintenance technicians to diagnose equipment failures and restore production.
• Support FANUC/KUKA robotics, fastening systems, torque tooling, presses, compressors, and other industrial machinery.
• Investigate recurring breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop preventative maintenance procedures and support equipment reliability improvements.
• Assist with equipment modifications, installations, and continuous improvement projects.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of manufacturing experience in an assembly environment.
• Strong hands-on mechanical maintenance and industrial equipment troubleshooting experience.
• Working knowledge of FANUC/KUKA robotics, industrial automation, and fastening/torque systems.
• Experience supporting active production operations and working alongside skilled trades personnel.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology (8+ years of relevant experience may substitute).
• Automotive, powertrain, or heavy industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
• 100% onsite in Redford, MI.
• Primarily plant-floor support, with approximately 70–80% of the role focused on equipment troubleshooting.
• Must be flexible with shift schedules and production support needs.
• Overtime may be required, including extended shifts, weekends, and occasional holidays.
• Rotating weekend coverage is required to support production operations.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, active manufacturing environment.
