Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Maintenance Technician Level 3 in Owosso, MI to support extrusion and manufacturing equipment. The role requires 5+ years in industrial maintenance and strong electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, including basic PLC diagnostics.

Shifts are 2nd and 3rd with a weekend rotation and overtime likely. The position offers a 50-hour week with a $1.50 shift premium on the 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Electrical troubleshooting including basic PLC diagnostics.
• Experience with AC/DC motors, drives, and power distribution.
• Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings.
• Experience performing preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Knowledge of LOTO, Arc Flash, and industrial safety procedures.
• Experience using electrical test equipment (voltmeters, ammeters, ohm meters, megger).
• Experience supporting manufacturing or production equipment.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends and participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair extrusion and manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues.
• Troubleshoot PLC-related issues and escalate complex controls problems when needed.
• Manage work orders and maintenance schedules within the CMMS.
• Order replacement parts and coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Support production uptime and minimize equipment downtime.
• Mentor and support junior maintenance technicians.
• Participate in continuous improvement and plant safety initiatives.
• Provide on-call and weekend maintenance coverage as needed.

Position: Maintenance Technician Level 3

Openings: 2 (1 – 2nd shift, 1 – 3rd shift)

Location: Owosso, MI 48867

Hours: 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM | 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM–7:30 AM | Monday–Friday with some weekend work. Currently averaging every other weekend. Maintenance technicians may also come in on weekends for preventive maintenance.

Hours/Week: Approximately 50 hours per week

2nd shift premium- $1.50

Timeline/Start Date: ASAP

Interview Process: Ideally one-and-done onsite interview. If needed, first interview can be virtual followed by an onsite interview.

Must Haves

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Electrical troubleshooting experience, including basic PLC troubleshooting/diagnostics
• Experience with AC/DC motors, drives, and power distribution
• Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings

Day to Day
