Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Leader at its Texas site to drive safety, reliability, and continuous improvement across mechanical maintenance, planning, and capital projects.

You will supervise maintenance personnel, lead root cause analysis, manage budgets, coordinate contractors, and align activities with production needs to maximize uptime and safety. Experience in preventive/predictive maintenance and process improvements is essential.

Qualifications

• 4-year Engineering or Engineering Technology degree.

Responsibilities

• Identify and eliminate safety hazards through design, maintenance, and procedural improvements.
• Lead root cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and improve preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to increase reliability and uptime.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, down days, and outages, including leading planning meetings.
• Own and manage monthly maintenance budget, driving cost control.
• Coordinate and direct contractor work during maintenance activities and outages.
• Lead Capital projects from concept through commissioning, including scope development, budgeting, justification, and scheduling.
• Manage contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout all phases of the project.
• Oversee installation, startup, and commissioning to ensure system meet performance and safety expectations.
