Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own defined-scope mechanical tasks for our Linear Generator platform. You will design hardware, support analysis and testing, and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, test and service teams.

The right candidate has hands-on experience through multiple design cycles, independent ownership of work, and strong mechanical fundamentals.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with project experience.
Experience designing, analyzing, testing, and iterating mechanical hardware.
Ability to own defined-scope engineering work with clear deliverables.
Strong fundamentals in mechanical domains (structures, thermal, fluids).
Experience with CAD and design documentation.

Responsibilities

Own defined-scope mechanical engineering tasks with clear objectives.
Design moderately complex parts, assemblies, fixtures, or subsystems considering manufacturability and safety.
Use calculations, simulations, experiments, and tests to validate designs.
Develop and execute test plans, interpret results, and document findings.
Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, test, reliability, suppliers, and service teams.
Track deliverables and manage dependencies within scope.
