Job summary

Verdantas is seeking a driven Mechanical Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 at our Holden, MA office. You will work with a collaborative team on mechanical systems design, assist with calculations, and gain hands-on experience in real-world projects that impact water resources and civil infrastructure.

You will use AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks to support design deliverables, participate in field investigations, and help prepare technical reports and construction documents under mentorship.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong academic record and interest in mechanical systems design.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a variety of projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with the design and development of mechanical systems and infrastructure projects.
• Support the preparation of engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documents.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering software to assist with designs and project deliverables.
• Participate in field investigations, site visits, inspections, and data collection activities.
• Review plans, specifications, and engineering drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct research and analysis to support project planning and execution.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, structural, civil, and environmental professionals.
• Assist with project documentation, scheduling, and other engineering support tasks.
• Perform miscellaneous assignments as needed to support project and team objectives.
