Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking Mechanical/Aerospace engineering students for technical internships. You will contribute to concept development, detailed design, analysis, and production support on Air Launched Effectors projects.

Responsibilities include 3D modeling, data packaging, and presenting technical information to review boards. The role requires pursuing an engineering degree with GD&T familiarity, Creo modeling, Windchill, and a minimum of 60 credits by internship start.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related STEM major and enrolled through internship/co-op.
  • Minimum of 60 credit hours by start of internship/co-op.
  • Experience via on-the-job, research, coursework, or projects.

Raytheon's Air Launched Effectors Department is currently searching for Technical Interns to work on a multi-disciplined team supporting the design and/or production support of Air Launched Effectors products and subsystems. What You Will Do

Your responsibilities may include supporting concept development, detailed design, analysis, integration and test, support of transition to production efforts, factory production line support and product improvement. Additional duties may include root cause / corrective action and problem resolution at our on-site labs and factories or at various suppliers. Candidate will work closely with Integrated Product Team Leads/Program Managers to ensure that engineering requirements are defined, risks are managed, and schedules/budgets are met.

  • You will work within the process to ensure Technical Data Package quality per ASM Y14.5.
  • You will work under supervision of an Engineering team lead in performing your duties.
  • As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, your decisions will be data driven in nature and require preparing technical justification analysis reports as well as presenting to a variety of Engineering Review Boards.
  • 3D Parametric Modeling
  • Communication of technical information by way of presentations and other means

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
  • Experience with Creo modeling and drafting
  • Experience with Windchill and configuration management
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
