Job summary

Persistent Systems, based in Fort Collins, CO, seeks a Mechanical Engineer, Integration to support Air Force Communication System Programs. You will create, modify, and maintain system-level drawings in SolidWorks and support integration, test planning, and deliverables across the program team.

You will develop ICDs, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, prepare Government CDRLs, and contribute to system specifications and analyses while communicating progress to management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 4 years of experience with SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent 3D modeling programs.
  • Experience creating and interpreting engineering drawings, assemblies, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation such as ICDs, specifications, interface drawings, and engineering reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple engineering deliverables and priorities.
  • Experience with RF communications and/or network system integration
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis
  • Proficiency in technical concepts such as wireless, mobile IP, RF propagation with an understanding of hardware and software concepts
  • Understanding of product development and systems architecture design
  • Experience working directly with customers and end users
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, written and verbal
  • Must be available to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Maintain expert knowledge of Persistent Systems products to build customer relationships by interpreting and developing requirements.
  • Create, modify, and maintain system-level mechanical drawings and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Develop system layouts, interface drawings, installation drawings, and other engineering drawings as required.
  • Create, maintain, and update Interface Control Documents (ICDs) defining mechanical, electrical, physical, functional, and/or system interfaces.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines and stakeholders to identify, define, and resolve system interface requirements.
  • Prepare, update, review, and maintain Government CDRLs and other contractually required engineering documentation.
  • Support development and maintenance of system specifications, requirements documentation, technical reports, design documentation, and engineering analyses.
  • Assist with system architecture, functional decomposition, requirements allocation, and technical baseline development.
  • Integrate Persistent Systems products to meet complex system requirements.
  • Develop and carry out test procedures that determine the outcome of integration meets requirements.
  • Convey system integration progress to management and expedite issues.
  • Identify short-term and long-term customer issues; provide data for deliberations and options.
  • Conduct Root Cause analysis to troubleshoot customers’ integrated system issues and collaborate with product/testing engineers.
  • Develop test plans, methodologies, and final reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Define integration strategies and plan to established deadlines.
  • Create technical documentation for integrations for non-technical audiences.
  • Develop technical portions of responses to RFIs/RFPs and similar customer requirements

Persistent Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Integration to join our team and be based in our Fort Collins, CO office. As a Systems Engineer supporting our Air Force Communication System Programs, you will be a critical member of the Persistent Program Team.You will create,modify, andmaintainsystem-level mechanical drawings and assemblies using SolidWorks.You will support andfacilitatesystem integration ofPersistent Systems’products, test planning and execution, report generation and delivery, and responses to RFIs and RFPs. You will play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges and new requirements to our engineering department as you strive to solve problems. This role requires excellent communication skills as you willbe requiredto work across the entire Persistent Systems team including Sales, Field Operations, Programs Management, Engineering, and Quality to provide customer solutions.


Position Responsibilities

  • Experience with ANSI/ASME Y14.100-200 Engineering Drawing Practices

  • Experience working on U.S. Government or Department of Defense programs.

  • Experience preparing ormaintainingGovernment CDRLs.

  • Familiarity with MIL-STDandother government engineering standards and requirements.

  • Experience developing andmaintainingInterface Control Documents (ICDs).

  • Net+orSec+certifications

  • Experience with RF mapping and planning tools such as Cloud RF

  • Experience with wireless concepts such as MANET, Mesh, Ad-hoc, protocols and web architecture, with an understanding of hardware and software concepts

  • Proficiencyin advanced technical software packages such as Wireshark and/or MATLAB

  • Possess an active Secret US Security Clearance


The pay for this role can vary from $117,000 to $146,000 a year based on the selected individual's education and experience.
