Chariot Defense in San Bruno, CA is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to design and test advanced mechanical and power electronic systems for military-grade energy solutions.

You will own hardware from concept to production, work across multidisciplinary teams, and ensure MIL-STD performance and reliability for demanding environments.

The role requires 2+ years of experience, SOLIDWORKS, CAE/FEA, and hands-on prototyping; salary range around $130k-$180k with equity and benefits.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years in a technical engineering/design/product role.
• Proven 3D CAD (SOLIDWORKS preferred) with CAE/FEA and GD&T skills.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and rapid prototyping.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD, DO-160, and defense/aerospace standards.

Responsibilities

• Design ownership from requirements to prototyping and production.
• Develop integrated mechanical, thermal, and power electronic systems.
• Prototype rapidly, debug, and iterate toward field-ready products.
• Design for mass manufacturing across mechanical and electro-mechanical subsystems.
• Support customer demonstrations and capture application requirements.
