Job summary

Delta Electronics Americas in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong 2D/3D design and automation experience to deliver cost-effective mechanical solutions for industrial automation.

You will create and optimize CAD models and drawings, collaborate across US and Taiwan teams, and support prototype builds, testing, and field deployments. This role requires travel to customer sites and occasional evening calls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years mechanical engineering experience in product design, automation, robotics, or related industries.
• Strong 3D CAD modeling and mechanical assemblies (Creo/SolidWorks).
• Solid understanding of 2D drawings, tolerances, and mechanical interfaces.
• Able to define assembly sequences and integration requirements.
• Knowledge of engineering mechanics and applying principles to design problems.
• Strong communication across US and international teams.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites.
• Willingness to participate in evening international conference calls.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, mechanisms, and products for industrial automation.
• Develop dynamic mechanisms with motion, linkages, gears, belts, and actuators.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings.
• Evaluate assembly sequences, tolerances, interfaces, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with U.S. customer engineers to understand requirements.
• Bridge between North American customers and Taiwan engineering teams.
• Work with EE, firmware, test, manufacturing, sourcing, and other teams.
• Participate in design reviews and problem-solving across teams.
• Apply mechanics principles to real-world design challenges.
• Join international conference calls outside normal business hours.
• Travel to customer sites to understand system needs and support design.
• Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and design improvements.
