Job summary

EwingCole in Raleigh seeks a Mechanical EIT 1 to join our office. The role supports the project team in design and documentation tasks while building foundational knowledge toward licensure.

Essential functions include developing clear drawings, using Revit and related software, learning building technology, aiding project delivery and code calculations under supervision, and gaining exposure to site visits and submittals in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor of Architectural Engineering.
• Proficient in Revit; experience with load calculation tools such as Carrier HAP.

• Documentation: Develops clear drawings and documentation including existing conditions and ductwork/piping layout.
• Software: Demonstrates aptitude in the necessary software to complete tasks.

Our multi-disciplinary practice is built on the core values of professional excellence, design quality and collaboration. We are seeking an Mechanical EIT 1 to join our Raleigh office.

The Mechanical Engineer in Training 1 supports the project team in the development of design and documentation tasks while building foundational technical knowledge and gaining experience toward P.E. licensure.

Essential Functions:

• Documentation: Develops clear drawings and documentation including documenting existing conditions and assisting in the layout of ductwork and piping
• Software: Demonstrates aptitude in the use of the necessary software to complete tasks
• Building Technology: Actively acquire knowledge of technical terms and concepts
• Project Delivery: Supports the project team in the delivery of project documentation
• Quality Standards: Actively acquire knowledge of production and delivery standards
• Sustainability: Approaches projects with the understanding of sustainable concepts
• Construction Administration: Gains exposure by participating in submittal reviews and site visits
• Calculations: Assists with building code research and engineering calculations under close supervision
• Design Communication: Develops understanding of engineering design intent, technical decisions, and system impacts

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor of Architectural Engineering.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination (or qualified to sit for the FE examination) preferred
• Proficient in Revit
• Fundamental skills in Carrier HAP (or other load calculation software)
• EwingCole currently utilizes Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and the Microsoft Suite software to deliver projects
