Job summary

Leviton, a leader in electrical and lighting solutions, seeks a Mechanical Engineer III in Melville, NY to drive product designs from concept to launch with emphasis on performance and reliability.

You will collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, and quality teams, apply materials knowledge, run DFMEAs and DVPRs, and manage budgets while delivering robust designs that meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to lead product design from concept to launch independently.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and FEA.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead medium to high complexity product designs for NPI or PLE projects.
• Analyze existing designs for cost reduction and improvements.
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineers for PCB/mechanical interfaces.
• Perform virtual simulations and DOE to validate designs.
• Oversee prototype testing and cost target adherence.
• Maintain data and project status in systems.
