Job summary

Pilatus Aircraft USA Ltd in Broomfield, Colorado, is seeking an engineer to design and support modifications to PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft under minimal supervision. Qualifications

• Familiarity with FAR Part 23 compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proficient in MS Office and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Produces 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for parts, wire harnesses, and cable assemblies including related BOMs and installation instructions.
• Ensures drawings and models conform to engineering design and customer specifications and comply with standards.
• Originates specifications, control documents, verification/validation plans, procedures, and reports.
• Produces engineering reports, calculations, and substantiation documents and coordinates with outside specialists for approvals.
• Develops repair documents and approvals for PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft.
• Collaborates with Quality Assurance to obtain documentation approvals as needed.
• Reseaches, tests, and analyzes feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment and systems.
• Prepares material for and conducts periodic design reviews.

This role, under minimal supervision, provides engineering design and support for modifications to PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft in accordance with work instructions, customer specifications, and company and regulatory requirements. Works closely with other engineering disciplines and production technicians to develop and implement technical solutions.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Produces 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for parts, wire harnesses, and cable assemblies including related bill of materials and aircraft installation instructions
• Works closely with production technicians to ensure drawings and models conform to engineering design, customer specifications, and are in compliance with established company and industry standard practices
• Originates specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, reports, and other documentation in support of design and development activities
• Produces discipline-related engineering reports, calculations, and other substantiation documents and oversees outside specialists to obtain compliance verification and approval
• Develops repair documents and approvals for PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft
• Works closely with Quality Assurance to obtain aircraft specific documentation approvals as needed
• Researches, tests, and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment, components, and systems
• Prepares material for and conducts periodic design reviews

Other Duties/Responsibilities

• Administers and maintains the engineering library and related publications
• Implements change management policies and procedures through Teamcenter

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications

• BS Degree in aeronautical or mechanical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3-5 years of related experience in aviation required
• Must be proficient in the use of Solid Edge with Siemens Teamcenter or comparable 2D/3D CAD suite
• Experience with Cadence OrCAD or comparable ECAD suite desirable
• Familiarity and demonstrated experience with FAR Part 23 compliance requirements desired
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills including MS Office and SharePoint
• High standards of accuracy and quality
• Self-disciplined, capable of handling multiple, simultaneous projects and tasks
• Must meet the criteria of a U.S. person as defined under ITAR 22 CFR 120.62

The hiring range is $95,800 - $127,000 per year. Pay rate to be determined based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to relevant skills & experience, education, job location, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
