Reporting Relationship: Senior Project Manager, MCM

Position Overview & Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer III plays a key role in the successful execution of projects for our Medical & Clean Manufacturing Group. This individual will provide technical and engineering excellence, as well as successful delivery of work to our customers. This role requires ensuring high customer satisfaction by managing expectations clearly and proactively. The candidate will contribute to a collaborative team environment through proactive communication and support business development efforts via proposals and client meetings. The Mechanical Engineer III is expected to be self-directed and consultative, leading to differentiators in our service.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Preparing engineering documents and equipment specifications to meet scope and apply thermodynamic principles (e.g., HVAC design, load/energy modeling).
  2. Understanding of architectural, electrical, civil, and structural engineering practices.
  3. Designing and certifying LEED buildings.
  4. Developing estimates for scope of work and ensuring adherence to scope.
  5. Serving as project manager for complete projects when assigned.
  6. Supporting business development through proposal input and client interactions.
  7. Providing work direction to team members and subcontractors.
  8. Approving equipment selections and drawing submittals.
  9. Offering technical support to other departments/disciplines.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in LEED design.
  • Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong influencing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with effective meeting management skills.
  • Adaptability and responsiveness to change.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Office.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically.
  • Professional Engineering Registration or willingness to pursue it.
  • Experience in healthcare facility design or industrial HVAC.
