Responsibilities

  • Design detailed mechanical equipment using SolidWorks and machine design principles.
  • Apply mechanical engineering principles including mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, and structural analysis.
  • Support equipment build, installation, startup, and debug activities.
  • Verify equipment builds and layouts against engineering drawings.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support during installation and startup.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations, vendors, and other project teams.
  • Manage mechanical and electrical trades during equipment installation and debug.
  • Apply machine guarding and OSHA safety standards.
  • Travel to suppliers/vendors for equipment checkout as needed; approximately 25% travel.

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Description

Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for the design, build, installation, startup, and debug of mechanical handling and process equipment in a manufacturing environment. This is a highly hands-on role requiring direct involvement with equipment installation, troubleshooting, startup, and vendor coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design detailed mechanical equipment using SolidWorks and machine design principles.
  • Apply mechanical engineering principles including mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, and structural analysis.
