Job summary

Chemring Energetic Devices (CED) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to develop new products and support legacy devices across military, aerospace, pyrotechnic, pneumatic, or electro‑mechanical systems throughout the product lifecycle.

This role emphasizes Creo CAD modeling, GD&T, and hands‑on testing and documentation; you will lead technical meetings, develop OSS and BOMs, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver robust solutions on schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years CAD modeling experience with Creo 8.0+ and GD&T
• Minimum 3 years engineering calculations using Mathcad, Matlab, or Ansys
• Bachelor's degree in engineering; master's preferred
• Legally eligible to work and able to meet ITAR and explosive handling requirements

Responsibilities

• Create solid models in Creo with Windchill
• Produce detailed drawings per ANSI Y14.5M with GD&T
• Perform engineering calculations using Matlab/Mathcad/Ansys
• Lead technical meetings (SRR, PDR, CDR, PRR)
• Develop technical documentation including BOMs and procedures
• Support product lifecycle from concept to production
• Assist in proposal development and risk identification
