The role requires proficiency with 3D/2D CAD tools, fundamentals of mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science, plus experience with BOMs and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD design software (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD).
• Understanding of mechanical systems, fabrication methods, and engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiarity with BOM structures and exposure to an ERP system in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of relevant mechanical and building codes.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 25 years of Mechanical Engineering experience in a manufacturing or product-development environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical components and assemblies using 3D and 2D CAD tools.
• Maintain an understanding of how components fit into the complete product and design with that context in mind.
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, models, product definition drawings, and BOM content that support accurate production and assembly.
• Apply engineering fundamentals to component and assembly design.
• Participate in feasibility studies, design reviews, and testing to validate concepts.
• Interface with Production, Materials, Field Services, and R&D to apply insights to design decisions.
• Conduct root-cause investigations of mechanical issues in production or the field for assigned designs.
• Maintain accurate revision history and documentation for drawings and BOMs.
• Prepare technical reports summarizing test results, design updates, and performance data.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
