Job summary

Quaise Energy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to lead component-level design and development for lab-scale and field-ready mmW drilling systems. You will own design from concept through manufacturing, applying GD&T, FEA, and thermal analyses while collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and testing teams.

This role offers growth into specialized technical areas as business needs evolve, with hands-on prototyping, testing, and documentation as core duties in a startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of design-focused engineering experience.
• Ability to independently execute component-level design, analysis, testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead component-level mechanical design from requirements through release and testing.
• Apply GD&T and tolerance analysis to ensure fit, function, and manufacturability.
• Support testing and development of lab-scale and field systems.
• Perform structural, thermal, and fluid system analyses for validation.
• Use FEA tools to evaluate components under expected loads and conditions.
• Identify, source, and integrate sensors, actuators, and instrumentation.
• Document experiments, calculations, BOMs, and test records.
