Job summary

Parker Hannifin's Parker Meggitt division in Simi Valley, CA, seeks a Mechanical Engineer 2 to support development and improvement of core products by researching, documenting, analyzing, designing, and testing mechanical components and systems.

You will translate engineering requirements into practical design solutions, ensure cost, quality, and schedule objectives, and collaborate with customers and suppliers to support project execution.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering principles, drawings, product functionality, and applicable regulations.
• Proficient with design/analysis tools and standard software; may use specialized software.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering design process to develop detailed product specifications based on requirements.
• Conduct feasibility/trade studies; troubleshoot product performance.
• Interpret/test results; perform validations; use predictive models as needed.
• Provide technical information for reviews using established practices and docs.
• Contribute to project milestones: diagrams, layouts, data structures, interfaces.
• Review specs for clarity and conformity; propose revisions.
• Share specialized knowledge; may represent the company on projects.
