Job summary

City of Hope Orange County in Irvine seeks an experienced Facilities Mechanic II with a healthcare/commercial background to ensure building systems operate safely and reliably, supporting patient care and staff. Day shift hours and weekend availability are required.

You will perform a range of trades—HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, locksmithing, painting, and preventive maintenance—while installing and repairing equipment to code and collaborating with other engineering shops to finish

Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital.

With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital features 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. Day shift typically works 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Weekend availability is required.

City of Hope is seeking an experienced Facilities Mechanic II with background in healthcare and/or commercial settings. The facilities department ensures systems are running smoothly to take care of our patients and staff.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Install and repair equipment according to applicable building and safety codes.
• Provide assistance to other Engineering shops as necessary to complete work projects on schedule.
• Provide services normally performed by these Engineering Trades: HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical, Locksmith, Painting, and Preventive Maintenance.
