Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to contribute to the design, development, and execution of automated manufacturing solutions at our Nashville facility. This role requires 3+ years in mechanical engineering, CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD), and a willingness to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or ABET/EAC accredited 2-year degree with experience.
  • 3+ years’ work experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD).
  • FE Exam or EIT desirable.
  • Proficient in applying standard and advanced engineering principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Breadth and depth of experience to enterprise engineering problems.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish tasks.
  • JR Automation experience and automation industry exposure preferred.
  • Travel required up to 25% including overnight and international.

What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, Associate's degree (2-year) with experience from accredited program (ABET/EAC), or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 3+ years’ work experience as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Experienced with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD)
  • FE Exam, or EIT desirable
  • Proficient in the application of standard and advanced engineering principles, practices, and procedures
  • Breadth and depth of experience to enterprise engineering problems
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish tasks
  • Able to quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experience, including review and critique of others' work
  • Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred.
  • Travel required up to 25% including overnight and international
