Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our onsite team in Nashville, TN. You’ll work on intelligent automated manufacturing projects, delivering craftsmanship and quality while mentoring peers across disciplines.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical engineering, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD), and the ability to lead projects. Travel up to 20% may include international assignments; benefits start day one, with parental leave

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline (ABET/EAC acceptable for Associate degree).
  • 5+ years’ work experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD).
  • Ability to supervise others and lead teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • JR Automation experience or automation industry background preferred.

Location Type:

The position is onsite in Nashville, TN.

Travel Requirements:

Travel up to 20%. Travel may include domestic and/or international customer, supplier, and JR Automation locations.

What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline, or an associate’s degree (2-year) with experience from accredited program (ABET/EAC)
  • 5+ years’ work experience as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Experienced with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD)
  • Proficient in the application of standard and advanced engineering principles, practices, and procedures
  • Has sufficient knowledge to supervise others
  • Breadth and depth of experience to enterprise engineering problems
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish tasks
  • Able to quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experience, including review and critique of others' work
  • Able to lead discipline specific teams and influence project direction and progress
  • Viewed as a technical expert in the department
  • May serve as a mentor/coach for developing engineers
  • Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred
  • Travel required up to 20% including overnight and international
