Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to contribute to the design, development, and execution of innovative automation solutions that transform how manufacturers make and distribute products. The role is onsite at our Greenville, South Carolina facility.

The position emphasizes applying engineering principles, collaborating across teams, and solving manufacturing challenges. Travel up to 25% is required, including overnight and international.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or ABET-equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Experience with CAD software: SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD.
• FE Exam or EIT desirable.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% including overnight and international.
• Strong engineering principles and problem-solving ability.

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, Associate's degree (2-year) with experience from accredited program (ABET/EAC), or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• 3+ years’ work experience as a Mechanical Engineer
• Experienced with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD)
• FE Exam, or EIT desirable
• Proficient in the application of standard and advanced engineering principles, practices, and procedures
• Breadth and depth of experience to enterprise engineering problems
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish tasks
• Able to quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experience, including review and critique of others' work
• Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred.
• Travel required up to 25% including overnight and international
