Job summary

Job Summary

Logos Technologies is seeking a full‑time Mechanical Engineer to support ongoing technology development efforts at our Fairfax, VA office. The role involves ISR sensor design, high‑powered laser systems, and unmanned aerial vehicle integration. Responsibilities include applying mechanical engineering principles and creating solutions from formal training and experience.

Responsibilities And Tasks
  • Assist in the conceptual development and design of various systems from project proposal through kickoff.
  • Develop products from conceptual theories to deployable products.
  • Work with and manage subcontractors for component and subassembly manufacture.
  • Assist in the creation and management of project deliverables, including detailed project plans, schedules, resource plans, risk assessment/issue tracking, and status reports.
  • Partner closely with management and technical leads on technical direction and approach regarding project planning and execution.
Education, Experience & Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 2‑4 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 0‑2 years of experience.
  • Understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and other design and modeling tools.
  • Experience in design for manufacturing.
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • U.S. citizenship.
Desired Experience
  • Experience packaging optical and electrical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with surveillance/reconnaissance systems.
  • Machine shop and/or additive manufacturing experience.
Skills And Abilities
  • Ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with general direction.
  • Ability to independently determine and develop approaches to solutions.
  • Self‑starter with ability to perform duties with minimal management and oversight.
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member or independently on an individual effort.
Travel/Physical Requirements
  • May require some domestic and/or international travel.
  • Work environment can include exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and extreme conditions. Noise level may be loud.
  • Requires frequent sitting, standing, talking, using hands/fingers, feeling, and reaching with arms. Able to lift, bend or stoop as necessary up to 20 lbs.
