Job summary

TAI is seeking a Back Mechanical Engineer II in Dallas, Texas to design and deliver HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection solutions across diverse projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• FE certification or ability to take FE exam.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of mechanical engineering design experience on relevant projects, including HVAC air side and plumbing systems.
• Minimum 2 years of experience preparing heating and cooling load calculations.
• Minimum 2 years of experience performing ductwork or piping pressure drop calculations.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in Revit, including setting up jobs and designing mechanical and/or plumbing systems.
• Minimum 1 year of experience preparing basic equipment selections for HVAC or plumbing.
• Ability to perform field work that includes walking, kneeling, sitting, standing, climbing stairs and/or ladders.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and work in an office at least two days per week.

Responsibilities

Here’s a glimpse into your day to day

• Individuals in this position are responsible for planning, organizing, and successfully completing individual engineering tasks with limited direction and supervision.
• Individuals work independently completing a variety of assignments, and have basic knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards for the development of project deliverables.
• This position receives general administrative direction from the Regional Engineering Manager.
• Supporting small to large design projects.
• Collaborating and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
• Conducting field surveys and documenting existing conditions.
• Researching applicable codes and industry standards.
• Performing engineering analysis.
• Preparing engineering calculations.
• Developing preliminary and detailed engineering designs.
• Performing mechanical design and drafting.
• Creating drawing specifications.
• Collaborating with vendors for equipment selections.
• Completing design quality control checklists, monitoring progress of assigned tasks, and notifying managers of scope changes.
• Developing skills to direct Engineer I and/or designers for creation of drawings.

You’ll be a perfect fit if you have

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification or ability to take FE exam.
• LEED accreditation is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of mechanical engineering design experience on relevant projects. Applicable design experience includes creating construction documents for HVAC air side, and plumbing systems, with working knowledge in at least one of these areas.
• Minimum 2 years of experience preparing heating and cooling load calculations.
• Minimum 2 years of experience performing ductwork or piping pressure drop calculations.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in Revit, including setting up jobs, and designing mechanical and/or plumbing systems.
• Minimum 1 year of experience preparing basic equipment selections for HVAC or plumbing equipment.
• Ability to perform field work that will include walking, kneeling, sitting, standing, climbing stairs and/or ladders.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay: $75,000-105,000 annually (depending upon experience).
• Eligible for overtime pay
