Job summary

Nutrien is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Augusta, GA. You will design, evaluate, and troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment within a petrochemical/industrial setting, performing complex calculations and collaborating across operations.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) and an EIT or willingness to obtain it. Experience in refining or chemical manufacturing is preferred, with proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree required.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within designated timeframe.
• Experience in refining, petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, or power generation industries preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Excel or similar engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment.
• Perform engineering calculations: stress, pressure, temperature, and flow; equipment sizing and selection.
• Support mechanical design reviews, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with operations to investigate equipment failures and RCFA.
• Participate in hazard reviews (PHA, HAZOP, JSA).
• Assist with turnaround planning, field execution, and post-event reviews.
• Ensure designs and field activities adhere to ASME, API, NFPA, and company standards.
• Support mechanical integrity programs including MOC and documentation.
