Job summary

Thorlabs UFO in Ann Arbor designs and tests optomechanical solutions for components and instrumentation. You will contribute to documentation, testing, and cross-department coordination to meet optical and electrical requirements.

Entry level to 4 years of optomechanical design experience is expected. A BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering is required, with SolidWorks and PLM proficiency valued.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Experience in optomechanical design is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of optomechanical solutions for components and instrumentation.
• Create documentation for parts and assemblies.
• Perform testing and analysis of components per validation plans.
• Assist in development of fixturing solutions for development and production.
• Coordinate cross-departments to ensure designs meet optical and electrical requirements.
• Report development status to supervisor regularly.
• Participate in design, model, and drawing reviews.
• Assist with project planning, estimation, and tracking.
