Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to help energize energy-efficient building solutions. You will be mentored by senior engineers, perform load calculations, sizing, and equipment selections, and support project teams from early design through construction.

You will gain leadership experience, contribute to team efforts, and communicate clearly with clients and consultants while growing in a collaborative, flexible environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Non-academic internship required.
• Leadership involvement in student organizations preferred.
• EIT certification (FE exam) a plus.
• internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform load calculations, determine system sizing and layouts.
• Calculate equipment sizes and select equipment.
• Complete field surveys and review equipment shop drawings.
• Lead mechanical project teams as you gain project experience.
• Write specifications and participate in project meetings with clients and other consultants.
• Support construction-phase work.
