Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I in Nashville to empower energy-efficient building solutions and advance sustainable design.

The role starts with close mentorship from experienced engineers and involves hands-on load calculations, sizing, and equipment selection to support high-impact projects across healthcare, science, and energy sectors. You will grow by leading project teams, writing specifications, and participating in client meetings as you gain

Qualifications

BSME/BSAE from ABET-accredited school.
Minimum GPA of 2.5.
Non-academic internship.
Leadership involvement in extracurricular activities preferred.
EIT certification (Passed the FE exam) a plus.
Internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform load calculations, determine system sizing and layouts, calculate equipment sizes, select equipment, complete field surveys, and review equipment shop drawings.
As you gain project experience, lead mechanical project teams, write specifications, participate in project meetings with clients and other consultants, and support construction-phase work.
