Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) in Tampa is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to help clients achieve energy-efficient building solutions and sustainable environments.

You will start under mentorship, perform load calculations, size systems, and survey sites while supporting equipment selection and shop drawings. As you gain project experience, you’ll lead teams, write specs, and participate in client meetings.

Qualifications

• BSME/BSAE from ABET accredited school.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Non-academic internship.
• Leadership involvement in extracurricular activities/student organizations preferred.
• EIT certification (Passed the FE exam) a plus.
• Internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform load calculations and determine system sizing and layouts.
• Calculate equipment sizes and select equipment.
• Complete field surveys and review equipment shop drawings.
• Lead mechanical project teams as experience grows and write specifications.
• Participate in project meetings with clients and other consultants; support construction-phase work.
