Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support energy‑efficient building solutions in a collaborative Tampa office.

You will work under experienced engineers and gradually mentor designers, handling load calculations, sizing, layouts, and equipment selection while engaging in field surveys and shop drawing reviews. As you gain project experience, you will lead mechanical project teams, write specifications, participate in client meetings, and support

Qualifications

  • BSME/BSAE from ABET accredited school.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Non‑academic internship.
  • Leadership involvement in extracurricular activities/student organizations preferred.
  • EIT certification (Passed the FE exam) a plus.
  • Internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform load calculations, determine system sizing and layouts, calculate equipment sizes, select equipment.
  • Complete field surveys and review equipment shop drawings.
  • As you gain project experience, lead mechanical project teams, write specifications, participate in project meetings with clients and other consultants.
  • Support construction‑phase work.
