Job summary

Vishay Precision Group in Poestenkill, NY is hiring a Mechanical Engineer I to design mechanical components and assemblies that support new product development and drive customer success. You will collaborate across R&D, manufacturing, sales, and service to bring designs from concept to reality.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 1–3 years of relevant experience, and proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
• 1–3 years of relevant engineering or design experience (internships, co-ops, or projects count).
• Experience with parametric design software; Autodesk Inventor strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on ability with tools for assembly and troubleshooting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; collaboration across teams and with customers.

Responsibilities

• Design and document mechanical components, assemblies, and installation layouts using Autodesk Inventor.
• Develop customer installation plans and site layouts to ensure safety and reliability.
• Maintain and update design documentation to support production and improvements.
• Assemble and test prototypes and first-build projects to validate designs.
• Occasionally travel to customer sites for troubleshooting, installation support, or repairs.
