Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from an accredited school; may substitute for 8 years of experience.
• 11 years of experience in design of electric utility facilities and related areas; specific area of expertise required.
• State of Hawaii driver’s license required; driving position standards apply.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepares plans, layouts, design calculations and related engineering design in accordance with codes and regulations.
• Conducts engineering studies, economic studies and field inspections; prepares reports.
• Prepares cost estimates, cash flows, schedules and specifications; supports projects.
• Performs project engineering and project management functions on assigned and major capital projects.
• Coordinates design with consulting engineers; evaluates proposals and bids; supports procurement.
• Participates in company emergency response activities as assigned.
