Job summary

Hawaiian Electric Companies in Pearl City, Oahu, Hawaii seeks Mechanical Engineer I or II to support capital construction programs for HECO, MECO and HELCO. Under supervision or with guidance, you will perform design, project engineering and management tasks across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Theories and principles of engineering gained through college-level study or equivalent experience.
• Experience with engineering design, project management and construction methods for electric utility facilities (11 years).
• Familiar with PCs and software such as spreadsheets and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare plans, layouts, design calculations and related engineering design per codes and regs.
• Conduct engineering and economic studies and field inspections with reports.
• Prepare cost estimates, cash flows, schedules and construction specifications.
• Perform project engineering and project management on assigned projects.
• Coordinate design with consulting engineers and evaluate proposals.
• Participate in Company emergency response activities as assigned.
