Job summary

Astronics Corporation, a global aerospace supplier, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and test mechanical and electromechanical systems for commercial, government, and military markets. You will work on plastic and metal components with a focus on manufacturability and reliability, using 3D CAD tools and FEA/CFD analyses.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree with 1–5 years relevant experience, proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred), GD&T knowledge, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; 1–5 years of related experience
• Demonstrated competency with CAD applications; SolidWorks preferred
• Working knowledge of GD&T and mechanical tolerance analysis methods
• Experience with numerical simulation methods (FEA/CFD/Thermal) is desirable
• Experience with DOE tools (Minitab/JMP/Design-Expert)
• Knowledge of SPC and AS9100 standards desirable
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and regulations
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical or electromechanical design using CAD software
• Design components and assemblies with emphasis on manufacturability and reliability
• Research, design, develop, and test mechanical and electromechanical systems
• Perform engineering calculations to size components and validate designs
• Apply applicable national standards in design and testing
• Generate engineering test reports
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety procedures
• Observe safety and security procedures and report hazards
