Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation, Defense Systems Division in Irvine, CA, seeks an engineer to design mechanical equipment and assist with projects from planning through design. You will review drawings, perform calculations, and support engineers across the division.

We value strong communication, ability to work with cross-functional teams, and a willingness to travel occasionally. A BS in Mechanical Engineering and 0-3+ years of relevant design experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
• 0-3+ years of experience in designing mechanical components/subsystems and applying ASME Y14.5M.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; able to present results effectively.
• Ability to work with engineers, other departments, customers, vendors and management.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; meet deadlines with limited resources.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of applied thermodynamics and mechanical design.
• Occasional extended hours and travel.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Designs mechanical equipment, systems and processes.
• Performs calculations and analyses to validate designs.
• Supports engineers for simple to medium projects.
• Reviews drawings and may direct drafters/designers.
• Communicates designs to peers, engineers and customers.
• Writes reports as required.
