Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to design and develop mechanical components and systems for aerospace and defense programs. You will assist with testing, analysis, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to meet design requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 0–2+ years of experience, familiarity with CAD, and the ability to obtain a US secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 0-2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related role.
• Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain United States secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems.
• Support the creation and execution of test plans for mechanical products.
• Perform basic analyses and simulations to validate designs.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports for review.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design requirements are met.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design and testing issues.
